TEDxJackson Hole
My TEDx roots go back to my hometown of Rochester, NY, where I hosted TEDxLila, a salon-like event at my children’s school, with the theme of divine play. As a journalist and a stay-at-home mom, I thought TED was some of the best journalism in the early 21st century – direct, innovative and aware.
When I moved to Jackson, I dreamt of all of the amazing speakers who we could attract. Then I met Lisa Samford a delightfully ambitious director who runs Jackson Wild and puts on what some call the ‘Oscars of wildlife film.’ It was Lisa who introduced me to Jane Goodall, E. O. Wilson and Tom Mangelson (whose TEDxJH Metamophosis video is linked below). Lisa and I have worked together now for more than 10 years to bring conservationists, social justice advocates and local heroes to the stage.
Like motherhood, volunteering for TEDx has been some of my most rewarding and challenging work.
